Due to mechanical issues, the Winona (11 am-Noon) and Maplewood (2:30-4 pm) visits are cancelled today, Friday, January 2. Queen Victoria visit is also cancelled. Service is expected to resume next week. We apologize for the inconvenience.

Central Library Makerspace - White Vinyl Unavailable

The Makerspace at Central Library is currently out of white vinyl for printing. Members needing white vinyl can visit the Dundas or Valley Park branch Makerspaces, which are the closest locations with white vinyl currently available.

Printing Updates

Daily print balances for black and white and colour printing change January 2, 2026. The new daily print balance is 40 cents. Members receive four free black and white copies or two free colour copies.

The Telling Tales Festival

17th Annual Telling Tales Festival Saturday October 4 and Sunday October 5, 20259:45am - 5pm 
Admission: FreeRoyal Botanical Gardens, Hendrie Park, Burlington, Ontario  

 

The 17th annual Telling Tales Festival at Royal Botanical Gardens will feature a full schedule of Canada’s leading children’s authors, illustrators, and storytellers on five stages. 

Authors Tanya Tagaq and Matthew Forsyth will headline the main stage on Saturday at 12:15 p.m. and Sunday at 12:15 p.m. The Festival also features a book swap and shop, vendors, interactive walks, and creative activities. 

Hamilton Public Library staff will also be there each day, with 10-minute storytime presentations for all ages at 10:50am, 1:10pm, 2:25pm and 3:40pm. Featured books include Telling Tales Reading List highlights such as: The Bear Out There by Jess Hannigan; The Crayon Stub by Marcus Cutler; Hug by Charlene Chua and When the Air Sang by Laura Bontje. 

Make the most of your literary adventure and plan your day using the full Festival schedule. Be sure to register to attend this free weekend event.  

To make it easier to get to the Festival, hop on a free shuttle bus supported by First Student, in front of Central Library at 55 York Boulevard from 10am to 4:30pm. A bus departs every 15 minutes.
