Starting March 30, renovations for the 2nd floor Central Children's Area will begin. Programs will still be offered as scheduled and there will be a temporary pop-up Children’s Area on the northeast side of the 2nd floor (near the Piano Room), including access to collections and train tables. As of Monday, March 2, Sherwood Branch's 2nd floor is closed due to renovations. Makerspace, Children and Teen's collection are temporarily available on the 1st floor. Teen Gaming Volunteer
HPL offers opportunities for teens to play video games on Nintendo Switch. Teen Gaming Volunteers host sessions and assist with the set-up, take-down and monitoring of gaming equipment as part of the Teen Hub Zone program.
Volunteer Qualifications:

Ages 14-18.

Works well in a group setting.

Ability to communicate well with others.

Reliable and trustworthy.

Tech savvy and comfortable with Nintendo Switch games.
Volunteer Responsibilities:

Set up and monitor gaming equipment.

Take down equipment at end of program.

Ensure gaming controllers are charged.

Encourage other teens to participate.
