Friday, February 16: Jackie Washington Day
HPL celebrates Hamilton-born blues master and radio icon. Hear the music and stories of Hamilton's Jackie Washington as performed by legendary local bluesman Harrison Kennedy in the Hamilton Room. The Stewart Memorial Church Choir, under the direction of Michael Highgate, will also take the stage to celebrate the special occasion.
The City of Hamilton’s We Are Hamilton - Black History Remembered initiative honours the legacies of 17 Black Hamiltonians. Visit the City’s Black History Month site to learn more about the honourees and other Black History Month events taking place throughout the City.
